Mobile casino in short
Most casino play today happens on a phone. A mobile casino is not a separate casino but the same licence, the same account and the same terms used on a smaller screen — in a browser or an app. The games, bonuses, free spins and limits are the same; what differs is convenience, login, and how easily play slips into everyday life.
On this page we look at what to check when playing on a phone: the licence, login and payments, reading bonus terms on a small screen, security, and the responsible-gambling tools that matter most on mobile.
Casino games in Estonia are allowed from the age of 21 — on mobile too.
Browser or app
| In a browser | In an app | |
|---|---|---|
| Installation | Not needed — open the casino's address | Download from an app store or the casino's site |
| Updates | Always the latest version | You update it yourself or automatically |
| Notifications | Usually none | Possible — you can switch them off |
| Game selection | Generally the same as on desktop | Generally the same; some games may be missing |
| Storage and battery | Takes no permanent space | Takes space on the phone |
Neither is safer in itself. What matters is that you open the right address and install an app only from an official source. If the casino offers an app, find the link on the casino's own website — do not install files from unknown pages.
First check: the licence
On a phone it is easy to land, via an ad or a message, on a page that looks like a well-known casino. Before depositing, check:
- Whether the casino holds an Estonian licence. The list is on the Estonian-licensed casinos page and the official register is available through the Tax and Customs Board. The background is in the casino licences guide.
- Whether the address is correct. Look at the address bar, not just the logo. The connection must be encrypted (SSL).
- Whether responsible-gambling tools are available. A licensed casino must offer limits and self-exclusion on mobile too.
Login and payments on a phone
Estonian mobile casinos commonly offer two ways to log in: a username and password, or identification through Smart-ID or Mobile-ID. Logging in with identification often completes part of the KYC check straight away, because the casino receives your personal code from a verified source.
The most convenient payment methods on a phone are bank links and Pay N Play solutions, where the deposit and account creation happen with a single bank identification. How it works is explained in the Trustly guide; all payment methods are on the payment methods page.
The convenience cuts both ways: if a deposit is two taps away, so is an impulsive deposit. That is why you should set a deposit limit before the first payment, not after.
For security:
- switch on two-factor authentication for the casino account if it is offered;
- do not save the casino password on a shared device or leave the account logged in on a device others use;
- on public Wi-Fi use only an encrypted connection and prefer mobile data.
Bonuses and free spins on mobile
The same bonus terms apply on mobile as on desktop. The difference is in the reading: on a small screen the terms are compressed and easy to skip. Before activating a bonus or free spins on your phone, open the full terms and find:
- the wagering requirement and what it is calculated on;
- the validity period of the spins and the game they are given on;
- the maximum bet with bonus money and the maximum withdrawal;
- games excluded from bonus wagering.
A good habit is to take a dated screenshot of the terms. If a dispute arises later, you have proof of which terms applied when you activated the offer. Bonus types are compared in the bonus hub and the active spin offers are in the free spins ranking. You can estimate a bonus's value before depositing with the bonus calculator.
Games on a small screen
Slots are the most common on a phone because they are built for portrait play and a spin takes seconds. Speed is exactly what to be aware of on mobile: the faster the game, the larger the amount staked per hour and therefore the expected loss. Live casino games need a stable connection — if the connection drops, the table's rule set out in the game's info screen applies.
If the connection drops mid-spin, the result is generally already determined on the server and shows in your balance after you log in again. If the balance does not add up, write to customer support immediately with the time and the game's name.
Responsible gambling on a phone
A phone is always with you, which makes it easy to play at moments you did not plan to: at night, at work, after a bad day. A few simple settings help:
- set a reality check at the casino that reminds you how long you have been playing;
- switch off the casino app's notifications;
- use the phone's own screen-time limits for the casino app or browser;
- if you need a break, use a cool-off period or self-exclusion; a restriction at all Estonian-licensed casinos at once is available through the HAMPI register.
If gambling has become a concern, read the gambling addiction guide and contact the counsellors at peaasi.ee or the National Institute for Health Development.
